New Names
Usually I would write a snide remark for the names but I'm doing this before I go to work. Needless to say I'm pushed for time so I'll just make one snide remark before I list the new names.
Here is the updated names and even more reasons why people are having trouble spelling. I wonder how much thought was given about these names before were bestowed on these small children. Now I'm pondering what these people think about their names.

Writing Challenge
This is a lot off the subject. So my daughter is helping me out with getting my writing back in form. So she gave me four groups of words in which to write a short story.
Vampires
Frogs
China
eating chicken
So if the short story is any good, I'll post it. Anyone else who is eager to take challenge just post your story in the comments.
Oh I do have some more names to post later this week.

Well I have to say that the response I'm getting at work about this blog is fantastic. Thanks y'all.
So now on to the new names
Lurie -not sure there is an equivalent name but I thinking maybe Lori.
Kristynn - Kristen People wonder why kids can't spell.
Aja- I don't know what this girl's parents were thinking. Is it suppose to be A.J.? Okay, so if your going to name your child with initials fine, especially if it's a nickname. You mean to tell me that her parents could figure out a name that starts with "A" and a name that starts with "J".
This week the grand winner of ridiculous names comes from Judy B. Now mind you, I'm Irish so what these parents did to this child is darn right sacrilegious.
Ma-leigh - Sound it out people. That would be Molly. Somewhere Irish eyes are crying.
Erin Go Bragh!

Foreign Names
Okay, I have already had one friend come by and say that they can't contribute because their parents gave their siblings unusually foreign names. I almost added to my first post that foreign names don't count especially since I had considered that if I ever have a second daughter I would name her Seraphina after my great, great grandmother. To me foreign names mean that that name has a meaning to a person or it's family name. At least the parents did a little research or looked up baby names on a website. So rest assured if your parents named you after a Greek river nymph, I'm not talking about you. This isn't the site about unusually names. No, this is just a site for me to rant about names that some people give their children where it is a) not a name at all or b) where names have letters replaced. It's just that it is no wonder America's academic stats keep falling with names like some of the ones I have encountered, it's lucky that American youths can spell at all.
Three names I came across after lunch
Catrina - Well after the hurricane I guess I wouldn't want to go by Katrina either.
Ebone - I guess the parents are trying to make it seem like Ebony but to me it sounds like an electronic steak.
Mirraca - I don't think this is a foreign name. I couldn't find it anywhere so if anyone out there knows if Mirraca is actually a name that means something or is gibberish, let me know.
Amanda sent me another name this afternoon - Wayvone - pronounced WAVE ON. Sounds like girl from seventies song.

In the beginning
I work at a place where I come in contact with a lot of names. While working I have come across several "creative" names. Now I'm all for finding that unique name for your special baby but come on. Please remember that names are carried into adulthood and other people have to use them. After I have come across dozens of Brittanys that end in an "i", I have decided to start a list of some of the names I have been subjected to write and spellcheck for various projects. I know some of you out there might like your names and it is good that you have such high self esteem but it still doesn't change the fact that your parents are idiots. Your parents and others who thought they be cute or just like the way the name sounded. Yep, this is who this blog is dedicated to - all the people who are ruining the English language. I need to send a special shout out to Tabby and Heather who really got this ball rolling. Thanks, girlz!!
Karsyn - Yeah I know that this one isn't too bad but still the name should be Carson.
La-a - See when I saw this one I thought maybe this child's parent is a music teacher, but I was sadly mistaken, this name, my dear readers, isn't a note to follow so but is pronounced (La dash a). I grieve for this child and wonder what her scores in English will be when they cover how to use punctuation.
